Person throwing a frisbee.

We’re finally in the midst of summer here in the Twin Cities as warm weather travelers are flocking to our fair picturesque riverside communities. One of the most underrated summertime activities in and around Minneapolis is disc golf, also known as “Frisbee golf” or just “frolf” to many. For some, nothing beats an afternoon spent tossing a disc through narrow passages and lush forestry on a warm summer day. Disc golf can be played by athletes of all skill levels and ages. Many disc golfers bring along their favorite four-legged friends! Minnestay has a wide variety of luxury vacation homes just a short distance from the best disc golf courses in the Twin Cities in South St. Paul, Eden Prairie, Maple Grove, and beyond.

THE 4 BEST DISC GOLF COURSES IN MINNESOTA

We’ve compiled four of our favorite disc golf courses based on personal experience, online reviews, and customer feedback. All four of these locales are minutes away from the majority of our Minneapolis vacation rentals, including the Luxury Georgian Mansion, Luxury Victorian Ivy Mansion, and Historic Luxury Mansion.

  1. Bryant Lake Park, Eden Prairie – One of the most popular disc golf courses in the West Metro is in secluded Eden Prairie. Bryant Lake Park is a quiet, 18-hole course with lush forestry, well-groomed fairways, and stunning lake views. For $5 a day, you can play Bryant Lake, Elm Creek, and Hyland (all three are terrific courses).
  2. Kaposia Park, South St. Paul – Located between the neighboring cities of South and West St. Paul is Kaposia Park, the only 26-hole course in the region. Kaposia Park is equally challenging and beautiful. Disc golfers from across the Twin Cities flock to this peaceful locale to conquer some of the toughest woodland holes in the state. Kaposia is just a short drive from Downtown St. Paul, Harriet Island, and the mighty Mississippi River.
  3. Lakewood Hills, White Bear Lake – Lakewood Hills is one of our favorite disc golf courses in Minnesota because it’s off the beaten path, technically challenging, and beautifully designed. This hidden gem is a short drive from peaceful White Bear Lake, Myth Live, and Marcus Theatre. Lakewood Hills is especially awe-inspiring during autumn’s peak – the forest transforms into a beautiful meld of crimson, marigold, and kelly green.
  4. Hyland Ski and Snowboard Area, Bloomington – The multi-purpose Hyland Ski Area is an always-improving course with sweeping valley views, steep climbs, swift descents, and an on-site clubhouse with discs, food, snacks, and beer. Hyland is just a short drive from several of our luxurious South Minneapolis vacation rentals.
